From the Discovery Center Museum of Rockford, Illinois:

On behalf of everyone at the Discovery Center, we thank you and Women of Today’s Manufacturing (WOTM) for your participation with Discover Engineering last Saturday. We truly appreciate the time you gave to help interest kids about engineering.
We had 1,357 visitors for Discover Engineering—a new record! We had 20 companies and engineering societies participate in the event, and two more that had to back out at the last minute do to extenuating circumstances. We also had four high school robotics teams and one junior robotics team participate.
We had approximately 85 professionals volunteer at their company tables. In addition, approximately 20 students from robotics teams demonstrated their robots and let children take turns at the controls! We heard countless visitors tell us how fun the day was and how thankful they were to have this day for their kids.
In addition to exciting children about the world of engineering, the day also provided adults with a glimpse at many companies and engineering societies they may have heard of, but didn’t really know what they produced or represented. We are happy to help foster awareness of the many important things our local companies and engineering societies do to improve the world around us!
