During the past couple months we had to switch gears to carry out the mission of WOTM. Luckily, modern technology is our friend and we adapt. It is difficult to determine at this moment whether we will go back to our monthly facility tours BUT we are able to offer other types of events and educational content. We look forward to re-engaging with you all in person in the upcoming months!

Career Pathways Committee

The Pathways committee work has been delayed in light of the COVID-19, however we plan to re-schedule school career fairs as well as gear up for the annual National Manufacturing Day tours and expo. Beth Mead, of CEANCI and WOTM Vice President works annually with the Rockford Chamber and committee members to offer this career exploration and awareness activity to high school students with a few middle school students in the mix as well. Business partners are able to connect with students in many cases who have been trained and certified in our high school Career Technical education classrooms.
WOTM also collaborates with other organizations who support career pathways for students. Please learn more about the Education and Manufacturers Council by clicking here.

Educational Programs Committee

The educational programs committee is led by chair, Meaghan Ziemba. This committee is targeted to manufacturing leaders and line workers, providing them with practical knowledge that empowers them to be on the cutting edge of their industry. Meaghan has been creating written and video content to achieve the goal of this committee. If you are interested in being a guest on the WOTM Video Cast please contact [email protected] .

Scholarship Committee

The scholarship committee is led by chair, Laurie Miller. The focus of this committee is to provide scholarships to individuals seeking to advance their skills in STEM and manufacturing-related fields. T he Annual Golf Outing is quickly approaching. Raising money and organizing big events is no easy feat! If you are interested in volunteering or sponsorship, please contact [email protected].

I am eager to re-engage and pick up on the traction we had at the beginning of the year. Please reach out and share any of the latest and greatest news, trends, and updates happening within your organizations.
